To team members Xyza Bacani, Jessica Chen, Loren Elliott, Matthew Herp, Mansura Khanam, Eric Kruszewski, Gabrielle Lurie, Yeong-Ung Yang, and fellow faculty Kim Komenich, I miss you guys. It was so intense, we talked every day and I woke up this morning missing that connection. I thank you all for allowing to be part of your lives for a week at the Missouri Photo Workshop. I was so impressed by your dedication and hard work and persistence. I saw such improvements in each and every one of you. Keep up the great work!
My Photo Editor Mind — Days Away MPW.67

My Photo Editor Mind - Headed to Missouri for MPW.67
I am so excited and honored to be on the faculty at The Missouri Photo Workshop this year. Leaving this Sunday and headed to Perryville, MO, which has a population of around 8,000 people. It was many, many years ago that I attended as a student. Now it's just plain surreal that I'm teaching. I can’t wait to see the stories the students will discover. I have to give a 15-minute presentation. Public speaking is not one of my favorite things, but I'll survive. At this point, I don’t know who is on my team, so looking forward to finding out. This should be a blast.
My Photo Editor Mind – Rocio De Alba
One of the advantages of being a freelance photo editor is getting to edit a variety of types of photography. Rocio De Alba contacted me; she’s an artist whose medium is photography and she wanted me to edit her work. Wow, at first I was intimidated; this woman is really good! Then the more I looked at her work, I realized a good image is a good image is a good image, whether it is fine art or photojournalism. I can do this! We’ve had some great sessions on the phone; I love her self-discovery and how she works through her life through photography and with a sense of humor. If you get the chance, check out her work at www.rocioalba.com. Her work is also part of a group show on exhibit at The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO starting Sept 4, 2015. Damn, I’m digging this job.
