HURRICANE – PLANNING FOR A DISASTER 

The first year I moved to South Florida, we were threatened with one hurricane, but after that, every singe year after, we got hit, and hit, and hit, repeatedly. I remember Hurricane Jeanne. Thank goodness it’s moving north. What? It’s making a loop and circling around? Now it’s going to hit us! Covering a hurricane is a logistical nightmare; all you can do is set up where you think it’s going and then have backup after backup for plan B, and C, and D. The staff at the Sun-Sentinel always did a great job. Throughout every hurricane season, it was my job to help with the planning and then find the best pics and get them in the paper.
